May 3 1967 Brenda Kahn was born somewhere in Connecticut and the world was forever changed by her presence.
??? 1969 Family moved to Hightstown, New Jersey at age 2.
??? 1981 Started playing guitar at age 14. Bought first guitar in a K-Mart.
??? 1983 Ran off to Europe at age 16.
??? 1985? Moved to New York to study political science at NYU.
??? 1986 While in college, she started to play at Lower East Side clubs like ABC No Rio.
??? 1987 Left New York to study at the London School of Economics (studied political science). Spent one year in London. Then travelled in Europe.
January 1990 Released first CD, Goldfish Don't Talk Back (Community 3 Records)
??? 1990 Moved to Minneapolis; released the single, Life in the Drug War Trenches, on Crackpot Records.
??? 1991? Extensive self-booked tour (six weeks) through the Midwest.
1992 Signed to a new label under Columbia called, Chaos Records.
August 1992 Released 2nd CD, Epiphany in Brooklyn (Sony/Chaos)
1993? Went on a world tour, opening for people like the Kinks, David Byrne and Bob Dylan.
Oct 19-Dec 18 1994 Toured with Jeff Buckley on his North American Fall Tour 1994
Dec 1994 Released King of Cairo three-track promo CD on Sony/Chaos label
Feb 1995 Scheduled release date for Destination Anywhere CD ... but this never happened ... CD in limbo after Sony dropped Brenda Kahn from their label (Chaos folded).
Feb 17 1995 Brenda Kahn Concert, Soho Sidewalk Cafe
July 9 1995 Benefit Concert, Women Sing, Cambridge, Mass., to benefit Rosie's Place, "a solution, not a shelter"
Sept 1995 Toured with Bob Wiseman, Chicago area (2 weeks)
Sept 30 1995 Brenda Kahn concert at the Knitting Factory, NY
Nov 7 1995 Brenda Kahn concert at the Knitting Factory, NY
Jan 1996 Released 7-in single, Hey, Romeo (Through Being Cool Records)
Feb 1-15 1996 Midwest solo acoustic tour, in support of her Hey, Romeo 7-in single release
Feb 28 1996 Signs with Shanachie Records; slated to release a few albums with them
Mar 23 1996 The Brenda Kahn Band performed at Brownies in NYC.
Mar 30 1996 The Brenda Kahn band performed with others at "The Fort" (Sidewalk Cafe), NYC.
April 1996 The "Hey, Romeo" single is #4 on the Rolling Stone magazine alternative singles charts.
May 20 1996 Scheduled release date of the Destination Anywhere album, the one completed with Sony but never released.
May 22 1996 The Brenda Kahn band is scheduled to perform at Brownies, NYC. For more info, click here.
June 4 1996 Revised release date for Destination Anywhere CD ... available at record stores.
June 13-20 1996 Midwest Tour (dates in Madison, Minneapolis, Iowa City, Fargo, St. Louis, Champagne and Chicago.)
July 1996 Release of Destination Anywhere CD in Japan by Sony Japan.
July 14, 16 1996 Scheduled appearances at the Macintosh New York Music Festival '96.
July 17 1996 Scheduled in-store appearance at HMV (New York), 1 p.m.
Aug 22-25 1996 Solo acoustic tour of Northeast U.S., with stops in Portland (ME), Northampton, Albany and Boston.
March 18 1997 Release Date of Outside the Beauty Salon (Shanachie Records).
April 1997 Scheduled release of Outside the Beauty Salon in Europe.
October 1997 Outside the Beauty Salon released in Germany. Brenda Kahn is covered in the October and November issues of German Rolling Stone.
??? 1997 Brenda Kahn now managed by MusicLab Management, headed by Ed Aquilino.
Jan/Feb 1998 Brenda Kahn Germany tour; Jan 13 - Feb 2.; also, toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Performed at "New Morning" in Paris on 02/03/98.
Oct 12 1998 Performed at Empty Bottle
1998 Release of Hunger CD on Rocket 99 Records (her own record label).
January 1999 Brenda Kahn's music is featured in a film short entitled, Seven Day Til Sunday.
May 1999 Launch of WomanRock.Com ... a site where independent women artists can come to meet, learn, grow, network, etc ...
July/Aug 1999 Performed on two dates during Lilith Fair.
Aug 2000 Formation of the new Brenda Kahn band, Bliss.
Jan 2001 Formation of the new Brenda Kahn band, Blue on Blue.
Apr 2 2003 Birth of son, Mason Eli Droge
