NEWS: BRENDA'S BAND (BLUE ON BLUE) REVAMPEDThey say nothing is certain but change. And never was that more so than in the case of my band!! Since returning from SXSW in March (which was awesome) my band has completely changed to all new members.
We are now a five piece indie rock outfit featuring former drummer Kim Powell now on percussion, backup vocals and other sundry instruments. Perry Heller on Drums, Jeff Kolber on guitar, and Steele Hillier on the bass. They're all really bad-ass ...

BRENDA KAHN CHOSEN A SLEEPER AT SXSWBRENDA KAHN: Since her 1990 debut Goldfish Don't Talk Back, New Yorker Kahn has crossed folk comfort with punk disgust in plain-text truths with only the thinnest veil over her ire. Her latest, Blue on Blue, sports a pair of dislocated locals: ex-Morningwood drummer Kim Powell and former Ging'breadmen Henry Guiterrez. (Waterloo Brewing Upstairs, 1am)

Due to an unfortunate printing error, the in store date of Destination Anywhere has been moved to June 4. If you go to a store and they do not have it, tell the store to order it from Shanachie (shon uh key) Records who is distributed by Koch International.
The phone # for Shanachie records is (212) 334-0284. If you need press or tour information beyond what you can get in this email, you can call Cindy for press info, Jay for tour info, and Frank for radio info.
The record will be coming out in Japan on Sony Japan in July.
Brenda Kahn's "Hey Romeo" single is #4 on the Rolling Stone Alternative Singles Charts. Yeah, Brenda Kahn in Rolling Stone! Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself in the April 6, 1996 issue of Rolling Stone at your local newstands.
Brenda Kahn has signed on with the Shanachie Record label on February 28, 1996. They are excited to have Brenda on board. Brenda's first release will be the "Destination Anywhere" CD on May 20th, 1996. "Destination Anywhere" was the album she had completed with Sony/Chaos prior to being released by that label. Shanachie's gain will be Sony's loss ... Brenda's music stands on its own ... the record company builds the bridge between the music and the masses ... let's hope Shanachie is better at bridge construction.
